For now, the sales ban on the Cybertruck Foundation series seems to have returned. The clause, which was not included in the Cybertruck pre-order agreement, was included in the order agreement. Users who want to purchase the Cybertruck Foundation series also agree not to sell the vehicle for a year.
However, Tesla is switching to a similar method used in luxury vehicles such as Ferrari and Lamborghini. Accordingly, users who purchased the Cybertruck Foundaiton series must apply to Tesla if they want to sell the vehicle. For sales made without permission from Tesla, it will ask for compensation of 50 thousand dollars or the value obtained from transactions such as sales and transfer.
The Cybertruck sales ban is for one year and it is possible to sell the vehicle afterwards. However, users can make this sale to Tesla to sell the vehicle beforehand. Tesla, on the other hand, deducts the value based on how many kilometers the vehicle is used. Accordingly, Tesla will deduct 25 cents from the value of the vehicle for each kilometer. Although there is a sales ban for the Cybertruck Foundation, this transaction can also occur if Tesla allows its sale to a third party.
For now, it seems that the sales ban is only on the Foundation series. The price of this series is around 120 thousand dollars. Cybertruck Foundation will have a limited production run. In this sense, the one-year sales ban for the Cybertruck Foundation may not apply to other models. However, the annoying thing for Cybertruck users is that they encounter this in the contract. However, this clause is no longer included in any Tesla Cybertruck model pre-order contracts.
In this sense, it is unclear whether this article will be valid for other Cybertruck models. Tesla did not make a statement when this incident first came to light. It is also a matter of curiosity whether the company, which simply removed the article from the pre-order contract, will impose a resale ban.
